About Helium Leak Detection Services
Leak testing is implemented for the detection of leaks and ascertain the penetration rate of the fluid i.e. gas or a liquid will pass through the inside of a tight assembly or component to the outside or vice versa. Owing to this action, the pressure level of the two regions differentiate or barrier is somewhat extended of permeation. It has become typical to use the term leak to mention an actual passage or discontinuity through which a fluid permeates or flows. Fluid which has flown through the leak is referred as LeakageLeak rate means the rate of fluid flow under a given set of conditions per unit of time, and is properly expressed in units of mss/ unit of time. Standard leak rate implies the flow rate of atmospheric air under conditions in which outlet pressure is less than 1 Kpa; inlet pressure is 0.1 Mpa ±5%; dew point is less than -298K and temperature is 298K±5.
The term Aminimum detectable leak refers to the discrete passage or smallest hole which can be traced and minimum detectable leak rate implies the tiniest traceable fluid flow rate. Determination of the amount of leakage needed for a leak testing instrument to produce a minimum detectable signal can be done. This minimal detectable signal is typically utilized to denote the instrument sensitivity. Sensitivity of the instrument is not dependent on the test conditions, but when an instrument is under a test, the sensitivity relies on the prevailing conditions of temperature, pressure and fluid.

FAQs of Helium Leak Detection Services:
Q: How does helium leak detection work in your services?
A: Our service uses helium mass spectrometry, where helium is introduced to the test object. The spectrometer detects trace amounts of helium escaping from leaks as small as 1x10 mbar.l/s, ensuring high accuracy in identifying even the most minute leak points.Q: What industries benefit most from helium leak detection?
A: Industries such as pharmaceuticals, power generation, oil & gas, chemical processing, aerospace, and research laboratories gain the most. The service helps these sectors maintain operational safety, product reliability, and compliance with stringent standards.Q: When should clients opt for helium leak detection services?
A: Helium leak detection is recommended during commissioning of new equipment, routine maintenance, system upgrades, or if there are concerns about potential leaks that could impact operation, safety, or product quality.Q: Where can the leak detection services be performed?
A: We offer flexible service locations across India, including on-site evaluations at client facilities or off-site at our specialized laboratories, depending on your specific requirements and convenience.Q: What is the typical process involved in helium leak detection?
A: Qualified engineers assess your system and select the optimal testing method. Helium gas is applied, and a mass spectrometer detects and measures any escaping helium, enabling precise localization and documentation of leaks. Reports are generated in your preferred format.Q: What are the key benefits of choosing helium leak detection?
A: The benefits include high detection sensitivity, compliance with international standards (ASTM, ISO), prevention of operational losses and safety hazards, and fast turnaroundensuring minimal downtime for your industrial systems.Q: How quickly can clients expect results from your leak detection services?
A: We prioritize fast response and turnaround; depending on the application and location, clients typically receive detailed reportsboth soft and hard copiespromptly after service completion.
